There is a righteousness that is available apart from any work we can do. In fact, when we try to work for what Jesus already accomplished, we make the power of God in us ineffective. Our old man is dead and has nothing to offer. Our right standing before God is either all by the blood of Christ or by our works, but we can never mix the two.
Salvation is much more that a ticket to Heaven, it also includes healing, deliverance and rescue from temptation. We’re qualified for salvation purely because he who knew no sin was made to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Grace is what connects us to salvation.
