Does James teach salvation by works? Does he contradict Paul’s teaching that we’re saved by grace and not works? How should we understand this seeming contradiction and how do we apply each teaching in our lives?

What James and Paul call temptations are often attributed to God’s “mysterious will” in our lives; things like job loss, sick children, broken relationships, pets dying, etc… Yet James clearly says DON’T SAY IT’S FROM GOD.

How should we understand matters like persecution, trials, and temptations in light of James’ teachings? In this series I want to clear up any confusion. I will help you understand the perspective of each writer by showing which kind of wisdom each writer is using.
