700 years before Jesus walked the earth, Isaiah prophesied of God’s servant that would come as a suffering servant to deliver mankind from the darkness and rebellion. Isaiah promised this servant of God would bring healing to the nations. The people of his time expected a conquering king, but his deliverance from the tyranny of darkness does not come with outward observation, it is established from the inside out.

Jesus claimed the identity of the servant of God when He said, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn.”

In this series we dive into each aspect of Christ's pronouncement to proclaim the good news, heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free.
